The Yankees go 1-2 Against Toronto Thanks to a Putrid Offensive Performance

Corey Kluber got the start for the Yankees in Game one of the three game set in the Bronx against the Toronto Blue Jays. Kluber was struggling with his command, and he could not seem to consistently find his locations. In the top of the third Vlad Guerro Jr hit a two run shot off Kluber to make it 2-0. Kluber exited after three with an injury. It is expected that Kluber will miss at least two months with a right shoulder injury. This is a huge blow for the Yankees considering he was pitching so well, and he has become such a key part of this rotation.

In the fourth Mike King gave up a home run to Lourdes Gurriel Jr to stretch the deficit to 3-0. In the seventh with the bases loaded a grounder was hit to Gleyber Torres. Torres threw home, and the ball got past Higgy. Two runs scored on the play to make it 5-0 Blue Jays. In the seventh Higgy roped an RBI single that scored Frazier to make it 5-1. In the top of the ninth Justin Wilson gave up a solo shot to Randal Grichuk to make it 6-1. In the bottom of the ninth Higgy roped another single, and the Blue Jays outfield misplayed it which allowed Odor to score from first to make it 6-2. The Yankees would do no more, and they took a 6-2 loss to start the series.

Due to a rainout Game two of the series was the first game of a double header and is a seven inning game. Domingo German got the start for the Yanks. German was solid. He threw 5.2 innings while allowing two earned runs. His two runs were solo shots from Marcus Semein and Bo Bichette. The Yankees were unable to give German any run support as they were shutout. The Jays starting pitcher was making his MLB debut.

Alek Manoah threw six shutout innings with seven strikeouts for the Jays. Pathetically the entire Yankees lineup was help hitles except for Miguel Andujar who picked up two singles. The Yankees never had a runner in scoring position, and they showed no intent to win this ball game. They lost 2-0 in one of the most awful baseball games I have ever witnessed.

Jordan Montgomery got the start for the Yankees as they look to finish this series against Toronto with a win. In the bottom of the first the Yankees picked up a run off of a Gio Urshela double. In the third the Blue Jays took the lead from a three run blast off the bat of Bo Bichette. In the bottom of the third the Yankees came storming back with a two run bomb from Aaron Judge to tie the game.

In the fourth Gary Sanchez hit a solo shot of his own to take back the lead for the Yankees. The Yankees picked up some insurance runs from an Aaron Judge sac fly to make it 5-3 Yankees. In this game Jordan Montgomery threw 4.2 innings while allowing three runs on five hits. Jonathan Loaisiga threw a shutout inning. Wandy Peralta got a big one pitch out with runners on, and Chad Green got the save. The Yankees picked up a 5-3 win thanks to some timely home runs, and they escaped this series with a win.
